Michael Giles

Graduated from Aston University, Birmingham in 2006 with an Honours degree (2:1) in Optometry. Qualified with College of Optometrists in 2007 following Pre-Registration training at Essex County Hospital, Colchester.

Since then he has been working in this practice most of the week and part-time in the eye clinic at The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust. Hospital clinics involve glaucoma, paedeatric refraction and specialist contact lenses.

Registered with General Optical Council; number 01-23459.

Accredited via Cardiff University (2011) as an Enhanced Service Provider (ESP) for Suffolk NHS.

As an ESP referrals are received from optometrists and GP's across the county. This involves patients with potential eye problems (detected by optometrists from other practices) being referred to us for Referral Refinement ie making the decision whether an eye clinic is required and, if so, with what degree of urgency.

Achieved Cardiff University LOCSU Glaucoma certificate March 2020.

Examinations carried out at Dunstone Optometry privately or subsidised by the NHS.

Became a Partner at Dunstone Optometry in 2022.

Michael is married to a fellow optometrist, Claire.
